Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA typical summertime pattern continued across north and central Georgia as high pressure aloft drifted just west of the area. The storms were very small, but with high temperatures near 100 across the area, the dissipating storms were capable of wind damage. Such occurred with one small storm in Oconee county which produced a downburst and brought down a number of trees and power lines in the area.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeThe Oconee County Emergency Management Director reported that lightning struck a building in the city and set it on fire. A damage amount was indeterminable.
