| episode_narrative | A cluster of thunderstorms produced considerable cloud-to-ground lightning across northwestern New Jersey. Approximately 5,200 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes occurred in northeast Pennsylvania and northwest New Jersey between 11 p.m. EDT on the 10th and 1 a.m. EDT on the 11th. About 3,000 Jersey Central Power and Light Customers lost power in northwestern New Jersey. Concentrated outages occurred in Dover and Boonton in Morris County and Newton in Sussex County. Nine other municipalities in Sussex County and Blairstown in Warren County also reported power outages. In Parsippany (Morris County), the sixth green of the Knoll West Country Club was scorched brown in three distinct patterns after being struck by lightning. |
