| event_narrative | Lightning strikes took out power lines, and left about 450 customers without power for about four or five hours. A bolt of lightning hit a restaurant on United States Route 27 and knocked a 3 by 5 inch hole in the chimney and also damaged electrical equipment. Several motorists witnessed a bolt of lightning hit the pavement along Grand Central Boulevard with one person saying that "it knocked a piece of blacktop up in the air and it fell on the other lane in the street". A Pulaski County teenager was struck by lightning while in a ski boat on Lake Cumberland, and was in serious condition. Two others in the boat were treated for minor injuries. |
