event_narrativeLightning struck a tall pine tree next to a residence along SR 22 south-southwest of Maplesville and exploded the tree with debris being blown as much as 100 feet from the tree. The lightning caused about $2000 worth of damage to the residence primarily to electrical appliances and the telephones. All of the telephone wiring was burned and had to be replaced.
