event_narrativeAn 8-year-old girl, her mother, and another woman were struck by lightning on the east side of Montgomery near the intersection of Vaughn Road and Eastern Blvd. The victims had just left a restaurant according to newspaper reports and were about to get in their car when the lightning strike occurred. Rain was not occurring at the time. The 8-year-old went into cardiac arrest, but EMS people were able to resuscitate her and transport her to the hospital. The 44-year-old mother of the child was knocked unconscious and was also taken to a local hospital. The third person, a 33-year-old woman, was treated for minor injuries.
