| episode_narrative | A strong cold front pushed through Oklahoma during the evening of the 8th, and the early morning of the 9th. A narrow line of thunderstorms accompanied the front, with severe wind gusts observed in Alfalfa and Grant Counties of north central Oklahoma. North winds, sustained between 35 and 45 mph, with gusts occasionally between 60 and 70 mph, developed over the area as the front passed. In most areas, wind speeds were highest for approximately one hour, before diminishing. The highest wind speeds measured were 72 mph at Okarche, Oklahoma, and 69 mph at Alva, Oklahoma. In Garfield County, four, new high-line poles were blown over at a 45 degree angle just south of Garber, and insulation was blown off a roof at the Pioneer School. |
