Some of these thunderstorms produced occasional cloud to ground lightning. In New Haven County, a home was struck by lightning in Milford around 6:30 AM EDT, which triggered a fire behind insulation in an unfinished basement. The occupants of the house were evacuated, with no injuries reported. The extent of the resultant fire damage to the home was unknown. |
