| episode_narrative | During the early morning of Friday, May 25th, a cluster of thunderstorms moved northeast across sections of eastern Suffolk County on Long Island. Frequent cloud to ground lightning accompanied these thunderstorms, which triggered fires that damaged at least two homes in Riverhead. One home, located on Mill Road, was struck at approximately 4:16 AM EDT. This triggered a fire, which did moderate damage to the home's interior walls and windows. The home's electrical system was severely damaged. The second home was a condominium, and was struck at approximately 5:25 am EDT. This triggered a fire which destroyed the roof on the condo in the Saddle Lakes development on Middle Road. No one was injured, as the condo was unoccupied at the time the fire occurred. An adjacent condominium suffered only minor damage. |
