| episode_narrative | A strong mesoscale convective system which originated in the Ohio River Valley was able to sustain itself while moving through the central and southern Appalachians. This intense squall line moved north to south through western North Carolina during the wee hours of the morning on the 10th. Wind damage was reported from just about every county in western North Carolina and a few occurrences of hail up to quarter size were reported as well. Wind damage was mainly limited to downed trees and power lines although some light structural damage did occur too. |
