This front triggered thunderstorms, some of which produced winds in excess of 55 MPH and heavy rainfall. In Madison County, over 20 trees were downed onto roads. A power line was also downed in the city of Madison. A total of 1.35 inches of rain fell in Nethers. In Greene County, trees were downed in Ruckersville. In Rockingham County, the roof and the second story of a home northeast of Grottoes was badly damaged by a fire that was caused by a lightning strike. A total of 1.35 inches fell at Swift Run. In Albemarle County and Charlottesville, trees were downed and heavy downpours flooded several roads. Rainfall totals included 2.66 inches at McCormick Observatory, and 1.60 inches at Monticello. In Augusta County, rainfall totals included 1.62 inches at Stoney Creek and 1.18 inches in Spottswood. In Orange County, a tree was downed onto Buzzard Hollow Road in Orange. In Spotsylvania County and Fredericksburg, trees and power lines were downed. A power line was downed in Stafford County and trees were downed onto several roads in King George County.
