Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeSeveral rounds of thunderstorms moved across western Wisconsin on April 12th. These storms developed along a very slow moving cold front and primarily produced large hail, although some occasional high winds were also reported. The first round of storms moved in during the mid morning hours with the last of the storms ending during the early evening. The largest hail reported was golf ball sized near Stoddard (Vernon County) and near Viroqua (Vernon County).
Event narrativeevent_narrativeLightning struck a large retail store in Onalaska. The damage was limited to a portion of the roof. The store had to be evacuated until the fire was extinguished and it was determined that it was safe to be occupied.
