Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn unusually strong late July cold front and northwest flow aloft combined with a moist and unstable atmosphere to produce one of the most widespread outbreaks of severe weather seen across the Peachtree City forecast area since mid-April. The was marked by a mesoscale convective complex which began early in the day across northeast Alabama and quickly spread southeast through west central and into central Georgia during the afternoon. Numerous reports of large hail were received and wind damage was widespread in the path of the convective complex.
