The front dropped slowly south during the afternoon. ||The afternoon heating combined with the unstable environment to trigger thunderstorms. |Several convective complexes developed in the afternoon and early evening. One batch|of storms formed over southeast Ohio. One individual cell within the southern Ohio complex pulsed to a stronger level as it crossed the Ohio River into northeast Kentucky. The storm became severe near the town of Ashland.
