Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeTwo distinct lines of thunderstorms developed ahead of a weak boundary during the late afternoon and became more organized toward evening. One line developed across the Genesee Valley and the other across the eastern Lake Ontario Region. Thunderstorm winds downed trees in Ridgeway, Murray, Ogden Center, Ellery Center, Belleville, Croghan, Lowville and near the Chautauqua Institution. In some areas, scattered power outages were reported as the falling limbs and trees brought down power lines. In Rochester, lighting struck a house igniting a fire and damaging the chimney.
