| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | An early morning low end derecho moved through the region on the 13th which caused strong to severe thunderstorms to develop across southeastern Pennsylvania. The derecho moved off the New Jersey coast by late morning leaving a boundary across parts of the region. Later in the day, a strong low pressure system brought a cold front through the region, which sparked off more strong to severe thunderstorms across the area.||In addition to wind, heavy rain was reported with these storms. In general, 1 to 3 inches of rain fell across the state with the heaviest amounts reported across the Lehigh Valley. Rainfall amounts included 1.71 inches in Hellertown (Northampton County), 1.69 inches in South Allentown (Lehigh County), 1.61 inches in Upper Macungie Township and Macungie (Lehigh County), 1.56 inches in Forks Township (Northampton County), 1.23 inches in Jim Thorpe (Carbon County), 1.20 inches in Palmerton (Carbon County), 1.10 inches in Landenburg (Chester County) and 1.02 inches in Alburtis (Berks County). |
