Episode narrativeepisode_narrative	During an active evening of showers of thunderstorms, damage was reported from two different lightning strikes near Salt Lake City.
Event narrativeevent_narrative	A plane belonging to the Utah Air National Guard (a KC-135, which is a large plane that provides in-flight refueling for other aircraft) took off from Salt Lake City International Airport on the evening of May 7, and was struck by lightning about 10 minutes after takeoff. The lightning damaged a communications antenna that stretches from the nose to the tail of the aircraft. In addition to knocking out communications, the antenna became loose and hit against the plane repeatedly, damaging the skin of the aircraft. No one was injured in the incident, and the crew was able to use alternate communications to help them return to the airport and land.
