Plentiful moisture combined with daytime heating allowed for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across southeast Oklahoma, southwest Arkansas, northwest Louisiana and northeast Texas resulting in flood producing rainfall.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeLightning struck a tree near 79 Sassafras Drive in Magnolia, Arkansas blasting a hole in the yard. The bolt traveled through water pipes in the home of a local resident. No occupants were home at the time but two dogs were overcome by smoke.
