Numerous showers and thunderstorms again developed during the afternoon and evening hours, and while none became severe, as is typical of summertime thunderstorms they contained excessive lightning. One lightning strike in Fayette County resulted in one fatality and one injury, and another strike in Douglas County resulted in another injury.
