Similar to the past few days, shortwaves pushing down the east side of the ridge continued to provide lift to help enhance convection during the afternoon. A surface trough remained in place across the area as well. Widespread showers and thunderstorms developed, with numerous thunderstorms becoming severe. Most of the severe weather reported consisted of wind damage, but there were a few reports of large hail as well.
