Several units at an apartment complex on Leisure Lake Drive were heavily damaged or destroyed, displacing 16 families. Before firefighters arrived, three Marines and an Army medic alerted and evacuated many of the residents, including an 87-year-old woman confined to her bed. No one was injured in the fire, thanks in part to the quick actions of the servicemen. |
