Thunderstorms developed across Franklin county New York and became more organized as they moved across the Champlain Valley of New York into Vermont. In Vermont, a well established squall line moved across the state during the afternoon with numerous reports of wind damage as well as lightning strikes. As a result of these storms, more than 15,000 customers in Vermont lost power.
