Deep tropical moisture remained across the southeast U.S. A weak cold front was approaching from the northwest. Afternoon heating resulted in the development of scattered thunderstorms across much of north and central Georgia. Many of the storms produced frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Some of the more significant issues this day were lightning related, with one lightning-related injury in Cobb county.
