Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeStrong daytime heating and marginally unstable conditions produced isolated severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon hours. This activity was focused along a weak boundary extending from northwestern Georgia across northern Alabama. Limestone County was hit the hardest with minor street flooding, large hail and strong winds.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeLightning struck a trailer home off of Cowford road near the Tennessee River, catching it on fire. Tragically, the mobile home was ruled a total loss after the fire was extinguished. Thankfully no residents were injured or killed during the blaze.
