Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeSevere thunderstorms developed over portions of South Central Kansas during the afternoon of May 12th, 2010. The supercell thunderstorms developed and thrived in a very unstable airmass across South Central Kansas, just ahead of a southward moving cold front as it moved along the Kansas Turnpike. The supercell thunderstorms produced a variety of severe weather, from large hail, damaging winds and even a few tornadoes. Most of the tornadoes produced little or no damage as they touched down in open fields.
