Event narrativeevent_narrativeA lightning strike, nearly a mile away from a power substation in Green Bay, knocked the substation offline causing 2,316 Wisconsin Public Service customers to lose power during the evening. The outage resulted in traffic lights going dark on the east side of Green Bay during the evening commute. Police officers were needed to direct traffic until crews from the Public Works Department could install stop signs at intersections.
