Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn upper-level low pressure area persisted in the mid-south and was drifting slowly eastward. A cold front was slowly approaching the area from the west. Deep tropical moisture was pulled northward in advance of the upper low and cold front. Widespread showers and thunderstorms were noted in north-south oriented bands...which drifted slowly east across the state during the day. Some flash flooding was observed, especially in the Atlanta area.
