Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn upper-level disturbance was tracking across the southern plains into the Tennessee valley around a large subtropical ridge in the western Gulf of Mexico. Scattered thunderstorms developed during the early and mid-afternoon across northwest and north central Georgia and then moved east-southeast across the northern half of the state. A few storms became strong to severe producing marginally severe hail as well as frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
