Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA squall line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved through southeast Pennsylvania during the morning of June 9th. The squall line formed near a warm frontal boundary. In addition to the winds, the thunderstorms were prolific lightning producers. PECO Energy reported about 10,000 homes and businesses lost power that morning in southeastern Pennsylvania because of the combination of mainly lightning and some damaging wind gusts.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeLightning struck the peak of a roof of a home on North Limerick Road in Limerick Township and caught fire. Four fire companies assisted and fought the blaze and confined the fire to one bedroom and attic on one side of the house.
