Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeTwo airline employees were injured by a lightning strike while loading baggage onto an aircraft.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeTwo AirTran employees were injured by a lightning strike at Orlando International Airport. A bolt of lightning hit near a ramp while workers were loading bags onto a flight. Both workers were transported to area hospitals and were expected to recover. It appears the lightning strike eminated from the anvil of a cluster of storms centered 15 to 20 miles southeast of the airport. The time of the event is approximate.
