Event narrativeevent_narrativeFour hikers were struck and injured by lightning in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area in Worthington State Forest about one mile south of Sunfish Pond in Pahaquarry Township. Lightning struck the ground first and then traveled to the hikers. Three men and one woman were injured. Two hikers initially were unable to talk after they were struck by lightning. Another hiker suffered a head wound. The injured hikers were taken to Pocono Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
