Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA deep trough was developing across the eastern U.S. as a large polar high dropped south out of central Canada and a vigorous closed upper low moved from the central U.S. into the southeast. Warm, moist, unstable air in advance of this system supported the development of widespread showers and thunderstorms. Marginal severe hail and thunderstorm wind events were observed, but by far the main concern was flooding. Several creeks and streams exceeded bankfull from this heavy rain event. The flooding continued into the first few days of March.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeThe Harris County 911 Center reported that a woman was struck by lightning and injured. No further information was provided.
