Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA complex of thunderstorms developed over the Red River Valley region during the early morning hours of the 8th and pushed into central and northeastern Minnesota during the mid to late morning hours. The storms intensified as they moved into the Brainerd Lakes region with bowing segments producing strong winds. By the late morning hours, the storms outran their support leading to a quick drop in intensity as they reached Lake Superior and northwestern Wisconsin. Numerous reports of tree damage were received from the Brainerd Lakes area into Aitkin and St. Louis counties. A lightning strike at a cemetery damaged headstones as well.
