Street flooding was reported around a number of municipalities. Nearly 500 service requests were made to the city of Chicago for water in basements. One person was also injured at Montrose Beach as lightning struck nearby.

The man sustained minor injuries as storms were passing over just before 3 PM CST. He was transported to a local hospital and kept overnight as a precaution and was released the following morning.
