Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn upper low continued to deepen across the northeast U.S. and was digging southward into the southeast United States A strong cold front was moving south from the Ohio Valley toward the southeast United States. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms developed in Alabama during the early afternoon and expanded and spread eastward into western Georgia during the mid-afternoon. Many of these storms produced damaging wind and large hail. An expansive outflow boundary spread eastward across the state in advance of the thunderstorms causing additional thunderstorms to develop further eastward. However, thunderstorms decreased in coverage as they spread further east and all of the activity had ended by 10 pm EDT.
