Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeDespite a somewhat nebulous synoptic regime, with modest zonal upper flow across the southern Plains, widespread thunderstorm development emerged during the early morning of the 11th. Thunderstorm development was fostered by a strong isentropic regime across portions of central Oklahoma. Repeated rounds of heavy rain led to widespread flash flooding in a narrow corridor from west-central into central Oklahoma, including southern portions of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area. A downburst wind event was also observed south of the Lake Thunderbird area of Cleveland County near daybreak.
