Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn upper level disturbance moved through the Mid Atlantic during the afternoon and evening of July 4th. This system combined with a weak surface front and heat and humidity to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms during the late afternoon hours. Some of these storms became severe, producing damaging winds and large hail in Calvert County. Lightning was also responsible for several fires in Calvert County.
