Strong to severe thunderstorms were more widespread on September 7-8. These storms resulted in numerous reports of tree and powerline damage, as well as thousands without power and several road closures. Some school districts across Columbia County delayed classes or closed on September 8 as a result of the severe thunderstorms on September 7.
