Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA stationary front was situated across north Georgia. High pressure aloft had drifted off the east coast and a weak low pressure area was evident aloft over Georgia. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms developed with daytime heating during the afternoon and evening. Several of these became severe and produced damaging downburst winds, hail, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeThe Pulaski County Emergency Management Director reported that lightning strikes ignited two fires in southwest Pulaski county, one to a wheat field and the other to some woods. Nine acres of a wheat field burned and two acres of woods burned before the fires were extinguished.
