Numerous reports of trees and power lines being knocked down were received, knocking at power to tens of thousands in north central Alabama. Injuries were reported in DeKalb County when a tree was knocked down onto a residence, collapsing it. Lightning strikes may have also sparked a grass fire or other fires. At least 21,000 utility customers in Madison County were without power.
