Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeThunderstorms first developed along the sea breeze in the early afternoon hours on the southeast South Carolina coast. The thunderstorms then shifted inland along an outflow boundary and became nearly stationary across the Charleston Tri-County region. The thunderstorms repeatedly passed through an area from around Summerville and North Charleston. Extremely heavy rainfall occurred, producing flash flooding in this region. Thunderstorms also impacted the Walterboro area, producing damaging wind gusts.
