| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | A second tap of abundant moisture in association with the remnants of Tropical Storm Narda moved northeast across western Mexico into the desert southwest on October 3, 2019. Antecedent conditions from the record rainfall and flash flooding on October 1st set the stage for more significant flooding across southeast New Mexico. Widespread rainfall amounts of one to three inches were common with this second event. Localized heavier amounts in excess of three inches were reported with several daily records broken. Flash flooding once again impacted areas of southern Chaves County where more homes and roads were inundated by flood waters. Clovis and Portales also saw another round of flooding. Rainfall amounts for the first three days of October across parts of southeast New Mexico exceeded precipitation totals for the entire summer season. Central New Mexico was also able to pick up some heavy rainfall with this event. Locations from near Los Lunas to Albuquerque and Santa Fe picked up between one half inch and one inch of rain in less than 24 hours. |
| Event narrativeevent_narrative | The COOP observer 13 miles north of Clovis recorded a new daily record rainfall of 3.68 on October 3rd. Minor flooding was reported throughout the area. |
