Some of these storms remained nearly stationary over Chickasaw County from the late afternoon into the evening and produced rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches. Flash flooding occurred in New Hampton and water went over U.S. Highway 63 north of New Hampton. Some of the initial storms also dropped some nickel sized hail.
