Thunderstorms with heavy rain dumped 4 to 7 inches of rain that caused the flash flooding in Fillmore and Houston Counties. A mudslide near Brownsville (Houston County) sent boulders tumbling down the side of a bluff and into a house causing significant damage. Numerous roads in the southern sections of Houston County had water over them prompting officials to close some of them. Flooding from Riceford Creek sent water into Steam Engine Park in Mabel (Fillmore County). |
