Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAs Hurricane Lester passed to the north of the Aloha State, its swell train boosted surf on east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii. Surf heights reached 10 to 20 feet. Lifeguards were busy with providing advice to beach-goers and rescuing those who encountered problems in the water. There were no reports of serious property damage or injuries, however.||Moisture trailing to the southeast of Lester, in combination with local instability, triggered heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over parts of the island chain. The rain produced small stream and drainage ditch flooding, and ponding on roadways. No significant injuries or property damage were reported.
