Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn upper trough near the islands helped generate heavy showers over parts of northern and windward Kauai, and windward Oahu. The rain produced small stream and drainage ditch flooding, and ponding on roadways. No serious injuries or property damage were reported. ||On Kauai in the afternoon and evening, several hikers on the Kalalau Trail became trapped for a time as the Hanakapiai Stream in the northern part of the isle became swollen with falling rain. However, firefighters eventually were able to successfully rescue everyone.
