Event storm totals averaged around two inches and included 1.67 inches in Georgetown. |The heavy rain was caused by a low pressure system that developed over North Carolina along a cold frontal boundary on the morning of the 12th. The surface low was captured by the upper air low and moved only slowly northeast. At 7 a.m. EST it was located about 100 miles east of the Delmarva Peninsula. It continued to move slowly northeast, but was far enough offshore for precipitation to end on the early morning of the 13th. |
