Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA series of thunderstorms which rode along a wavy cold frontal boundary brought heavy rain into Eastern Pennsylvania on the 10th. The heaviest rain fell right along the Delaware River in the local Philadelphia area where estimates and actual rainfall amounts exceeded four inches. This caused poor drainage as well as some creek flash flooding.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeHeavy rain during the afternoon of the 10th caused ponding of water in poor drainage areas along U.S. Route 422 in Pottstown. Heavy rain also affected other parts of northwestern and southeastern Montgomery County. Event precipitation totals included 3.05 inches in Collegeville, 2.44 inches in Pottstown, 2.26 inches in Gilbertsville and 2.04 inches in Ambler.
