Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeLow-level instability in the area helped generate heavy trade showers on Oahu, and showers and thunderstorms on the Big Island of Hawaii. At the highest elevation on the Big Island, near and at the summit of Mauna Kea, one to two inches of snow fell. The precipitation at the lower levels produced ponding on roadways, and small stream and drainage ditch flooding. The snow on the Big Island forced the closure of the Summit Road for a time. There were no reports of significant injuries or property damage.
