| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | A complex of thunderstorms known as a Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) moved through the Western Low Rolling Plains and into the Permian Basin during the early morning hours. The complex of thunderstorms was aided by an upper level trough over the Mississippi Valley which provided upper level divergence and lift over the area. A southerly low level jet was also present helping to maintain the storms. Since copious amount of moisture were available, rainfall rates were high with this system. These conditions resulted in storms that produced flash flooding and severe wind gusts. |
