Upper level disturbances, rotating around a large upper level low pressure system over the western U.S., would periodically move across West Central Texas. These disturbances interacted with a dryline, outflow boundaries and a very unstable airmass, resulting in many reports of large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding. The most active days were May 26 and May 28. Scattered supercells were noted on May 26 and led to several large hail reports, while the storms on the 28th formed into a squall line, resulting in many damaging wind reports. |
